A quick Email Marketing strategy

What should or shouldn’t be doing when it comes to your Email Marketing strategy?

First of all, think about your subscribers.

  • What language do they use? - You should start taking notes of their language and adapt yours to your audience.

  • What messages are they interested in? - Find out their interests (outside of your brand) and build up your content on things that are relevant to them.

  • Is your audience engaged? - Study the data from past emails. Analyse open rates, click-through, and follow the path your subscribers have followed when reading your emails.

  • Are you creating appealing content? - Make sure all emails are on brand, the right colors are used and that your emails are consistent.

Then, we move on to the emails themselves.

  • Are your emails too long? - Get to the point nice and quick, whatever it is you want to promote, don’t make your subscribers scroll infinite pages.

  • Have you proofread your email? - No mistakes are allowed in your email newsletters! Always double and triple-check your emails or send them to someone else to read them before sending.

  • Have you included Links in your email? - Having links in your newsletter will only help you achieve your goals. If you’re talking about a product, include a link to your shop. If you’re telling a story about your brand, include a link to your blog post!

  • Have you included CTA’s in your email? - Same as for the links, these are necessary. A CTA should be included in the Subject Line of your email. You should also include CTA’s in your emails: ‘shop here’, ‘learn more’, etc.
